To preface, I have horrible acne thanks to the crazy hormones. On top of that, the benzyl peroxide is totally drying my skin out, making it flake. I'm a mess, but I do the best I can to look somewhat presentable.
So, I had to run to the grocery store on my lunch break. As I go to check out (with a line of people behind me), the cashier looks at me, motions to her own face, & says gasp "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE?!".
Are you kidding me? Really? May I please go crawl in a bed & hide until June now? (After I serve my time in jail for assaulting the cashier, of course.)
Re: Are you kidding me?!?!?
wtfffffffff! what a rude person!
but on another note, your poor skin needs a break. heal up the dry skin before you start trying treatments for the acne. "say yes to carrots" is a great brand and their moisturizer is the only thing that every helped with my peeling, dry face. The body butter is awesome (even for the face).
Ugh my skin is definitely the same way.
Earlier this week, my manager came into my office and started at my face for a good 25 seconds, then said "what's going on with you lately? You keep breaking out! Your skin looks terrible!" I was mortified. Of course I know how terrible it looks, but could you just pretend that you didn't notice??? Anyway, she outed my pregnancy and I told the truth. She said she wouldn't tell anyone and she better not!!!
I am so, so, sorry. People have no tact sometimes and I'm sure that just made you feel awful!
I used to suffer from the same issue - acne but with dry skin, so I know the feeling. I finally found something that works for me, though. It's a very mild cleanser from Keys https://www.amazon.com/Keys-Island-Healing-Foaming-Wash/dp/B003MK1UFY/ref=sr_1_1?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1320430356&sr=1-1
I combine that with an oil free moisturizer (I love the one from Alba and you can find it at most drug stores in the natural section). My skin has never looked better. Harsh acne medications just dried my skin out worse, and I still had breakouts. I finally realized that less is actually more with my skin - simple cleanser twice a day and an oil free moisturizer.
Anyway, sorry you had to go through that. Hopefully you can find something that works for your skin!

My skin has gone nuts also and it's so upsetting to me. If I were you I would have burst into tears on the spot. What a stupid girl! (The cashier). You'd think they'd be taught that working in a drugstore/pharmacy type setting, to keep poker faces on when people make purchases.
I've been using the Aloette lineup of face wash products because my fam dr told me not to use Proactiv anymore because he said the Benzyl Peroxide isn't good to use while pregnant. (I didn't inquire further, just took his word on it). I'm finding the Aloette works well and it's sooooo gentle on my skin. I highly recommend it. Plus, it smells like creamsicle which makes me happy lol

Thanks ladies. Unfortunately, a big part of my problem is that it's cystic, and the benzyl peroxide is the only thing helping at all. There's not a lot you can do for cystic acne while pregnant from what I understand.
I will admit, she was young & I totally wished pregnancy hemorrhoids on her when it's her time. hehe

I'm so sorry! That girl is an idiot. I also get cystic acne and it gets more frequent with pregnancy. You can go to the dermatologist and get them injected while you are pregnant. Its the only thing to do. I was there every 2-3 weeks when I was first pregnant with my son. Also ask them for Finacea or Azelex. Both are safe during pregnancy and help a lot for me. As far as moisturizer goes, I still with cetephil lotion or if its really dry, they have a cream that is thicker. I absolutely HATE having anything on my face. It makes me so self conscious. My face calmed down in the 2nd trimester so hopefully it will be the same for all of us this time too!
And remember, hardly anyone has perfect skin, just good make up!
What a douche.... who does that?
Mine's been really bad, cystic, face-exploding, awful. My face is also really dry.
I've been using natural cleansers- a cream makeup remover followed by a gentle wash and Cetaphil face lotion. I scrub my face with lemon juice and sugar every other day. It removes the dead skin and tones without all the chemicals. Once I've eliminated one they tend to leave a mark so I put some neosporin cream on it to help heal the mark. HTH!

? PGAL/PAL Welcome ?
I just said "uh, I'm pregnant & pregnancy doesn't agree with me". I really was in too much shock to say anything else. I could tell the guy directly behind me was uncomfortable by the whole conversation too.
My co-worker said I should've said "it's called acne, what's wrong with yours?". I'm a blunt person, but it never quick come-backs never occur to me.
I feel for you, sweetie! I'm breaking out really badly, and where I don't have zits my skin is super dry.
Screw that stupid checkout girl. Don't let her get you down, she's just a miserable person who can't keep her dumb mouth shut. I bet she lives with her parents and can't keep a man...she's gonna grow older and be alone and have 80 cats that all climb into the ceiling and poop in the walls.
