Twin names - similar but not too matchy

I'm in my 12th week and we still don't know the babies' sexes, but we will. (We're going to make the doctor put the info into an envelope and open it up on Christmas . But we can't seem to agree on anything.. hubby likes cutesy names and they make me want to vomit. But I do like the idea of having a "theme"..

One theme I thought was sort of lunar.. like Stella and Aurora, or Aurora and Skylar. Aurora and Dawn? We both like Aurora, but then these could be two boys. But hubby hates "Stella" because he says "it's a fat girl's name" (!!!) so I need more ideas. Or ideas to other themes?

My girls are Ava and Olivia. I like twin names that sound a little similar but not too matchy! I just always said people will refer to our girls together and we want them to flow well.

Everyone always says how are Ava and Olivia doing.

we picked trevor and cooper, i like that they both end in R.  ava and olivia share a v  and hudson and landry share the d.  i like that one consonant is consistent in both names!

I really LOVE Stella.  Aurora is beautiful too.  I live in Aurora CO and its a mouthful for most people with that double 'r'.  The nn Rory is cute. 

My twins are Michael Gage and Annabel Paige.  We call them Mack and Annie.  Yes their middle names rhyme, very much on purpose.  I like that their first names have the same # of letters and that they end in 'el'.  I like twin names that compliment each other.  Similar styles, etc.  

Its hard to name babies anyway, let alone TWO!  GL in your name search.  I can't wait to hear what you pick!.

Mine will be Carter and Kendall. I wanted names that sounded somewhat similar without being too matchy, like Ronald and Donald.

My DH hated the name Stella too, lol.  You still have lots of time to decide.

Wow.. I actually love all the names you mentioned! And I love having something similar in them (like the V sound in Ava and Olivia or the K sound in Carter and Kendall, or something like similar meanings), which sort of unites them without going over the top. 

This twin thing is going to be hard.. constantly having to make sure that they are separate individuals and respecting each of their personalities, but still trying to forge and respect the bond between them..

I giggled at your DH's opinion of the name Stella.  My DH says something like that for EVERY name I suggest.

I guess I'm way off the bean path with my twin boys' names! I picked the name Logan Scott and my husband picked Xavier Michael. About 2 hours after we decided the names when we were with family we said their names out loud..everyone just started laughing due to X-Men.    And to think my husband is the biggest comic book - cartoon nerd ever!!! haha...So now we just joke about our X-Men boys and their big brother who has a Super Hero themed room.

I love the Baby Name Wizard book - it recommends sibling names for the names you like. I was amazed at how the names I already loved were related.

Went with Lydia and Abigail. I was always a fan of Lydia and knew I would use it someday. We chose Abigail because we wanted to stick to older names and it also had 3 syllables. Incidentally, i have 3 boy cousins who are not triplets but also all have 3 syllable names to tie them together.

I like traditional names, but not too old sounding.  And something I can see fitting him if he becomes a doctor, lawyer or engineer My son is Charles (we call him Charlie).  I'm thinking about Samuel and Spencer for the twins.  I also like Noah, Isaac and Eli.  .
