I don't want to go into the whole thing because I am really upset about it, but here's something for you guys.
I went, waited for an hour, they called me back, a nurse in training (not kidding), who didn't even know how to work the scale or temperature thing (again, not kidding), asked me ten tons of Qs. I told her all about what had been going on. Pos, then neg, etc. She went and talked to the doc and he said that I had to take a urine test first. I said, "I really don't want to just spend $15 for a urine pregnancy test today. I came because the woman on the phone said I would probably get a blood test done because of the situation." I knew that their preg tests sometimes aren't as sensitive as the ones on the market or whatever.
Anyway, so I took it, the doc came in and said it was negative. I said, "I know, I told you that I got a negative one this morning and that I wanted a beta done." I proceeded to reexplain the situation. He said, "Well, if in three weeks you don't have your period, come in then." I protested and told him what the lady on the phone told me and he said, "Well, even if you have HCG in your blood, that doesn't mean that you are pregnant. It has to be really high to mean you are pregnant." WTH?!?!?!
I left, crying and $15 poorer. I guess I'll just wait it out.
P.S. The office, which I had never been to before since I'm new to the area, had 9ft ceilings (creepy!), kelly green walls, and the nurses or med assistants were all under 25!... Never going back there again.
Re: Worst Doc of my life. :(
Supa-- yes, 1st cycle charting.
Texas-- This is a family doc. I'd never been there before because I am new to the area. A teacher I work with recommended them.
Supa--- I went to the doctor because of the positive test, then negative test. I have NEVER had an LP longer than 14 days, and today is 14. Still no AF. I wrote why I wanted to go in a prior post. To have a blatant positive then a negative was heartbreaking, so I wanted to know for sure.
And I'm not peeing on any more stuff... thanks for the advice though. Really helpful.
