hey- just wanted to let you know Truitt didn't crawl until 8 mos. he really didn't have much interest and when he did, he mostly crab crawled. however, if you saw my pp you know that once he started moving he progressed very rapidly. he was a beginning walker right at a year and a very proficient walker a month later.
additionally, he has always had superior fine motor skills for a baby his age- able to stack blocks and play with small, intricate pieces from a very young age. my pediatrician said babies either develop gross motor or fine motor and then switch. so tru wasn't a bi mover b/c he was taking care of fine motor development more so than things like crawling.
so, don't worry about charlotte. i'm sure she's fine. all babies develop differently and she'll get where she needs to be. i read that 18 mos and no signs of walking is the point to be honestly concerned. so, she's got quite a while....
HTH!

Another buttinsky...Orion didn't army crawl until 8 months, didn't crawl on all fours until 9.5 months, and didn't walk until 13.5 months. ?He has fabulous motor skills now and is not developmentally behind in any way. ? He was just happy with how he could move at each stage and not in a big hurry to change it. ?I didn't worry until he took so long to walk and then it was just because it was getting inconvenient for him to be getting so big and still be down on all fours.
?Also, I have two nieces that never crawled. ?They scooted on their butts and then walked. ??
** another butter-inner **
this is what i did, too...
and maddy has never crawled, either... she scoots, and is faster than her cousin who crawls!
butting in, too... DS didn't crawl until almost 9 months, stood at 11 months, and took steps a little after 13 months.... I felt behind because of other kids we knew - but also knew it was totally normal. Also, DS wasn't really early on anything but teeth. It's so easy to compare and get frustrated/worried - but you just never know what all is going on in there. They can be learning a lot that they just aren't showing you yet.
Luckily, I also had a friend whose son didn't take steps until around 17 months who made me feel a lot better... they had just gotten an appointment with early intervention when he started walking. He's now a completely normal 3 year old - and 17 months is still within the normal range.
Thanks, everyone!! ?Wow, I appreciate the responses. ?I'm not truly "worried", I guess it just seems like everyone else's babies are already crawling and she's the ONLY ONE not (overdramatic on my part, I know)! ?But I know she'll of course crawl soon enough and then I'll be wishing she'd just stay still, and y'all will all laugh at me
?Thanks again!?
