My second DD was born at 24w2d on Friday. I woke up at 4am Friday with intense pain and went in to L&D (turned out to be my liver swelling). I came down with HELLP sydrome very suddenly and we had no choice but to deliver. Layla was born at 11:18 am by c/s. She's 5 days old now and doing really well for her gestational age. We're staying positive as best we can. She's a little fighter so far. Here's a picture of the two of us last night.
Re: Intro - new here
Hi!
She's beautiful, sending grow baby grow wishes your way!
Cerclage placed @ 21w6d due to CI (IC)
Welcome and congrats on your LO!
My son was born 23w5d, and there are a bunch of other micropreemie moms on this board too who can give you advice and understanding of what you are going through. It's overwhelming! I wish you a smooth NICU journey and hope your LO continues to do well. Please post when you can!
ETA: Love the pictures too!
Congrats on your newest little one! Sorry you're joining us, but glad you came over.
Please keep us posted on your DD. We'll be here to celebrate her milestones and be a sounding board for your frustrations.
Congrats on your new addition. I was also diagnosed in that way. They said it was pre-e that escalated to HELP Syndrome. My DD is named Laila and she's just a few hours shy of being two weeks old. Hang in there, I'm sure you're feeling how I was and still do feel sometimes. I'm learning to read everything I can get my hands on, especially if you plan to BF. I wish I had learned more early on, it would have saved me a little stress. Make sure that you are resting, and as soon as they allow it, start requesting to do Kangaroo care with your DD.
Hope to speak with you on here often. Be blessed!
I am sending you the very best. It is a challenge and very hard at times-- but we will truly be stronger for it and love our children even more for what we have experienced together.
