Pregnancy Pillow questions

Did you use one? If so, which one?

Do you think it was worth the cost?

Did you use it for a specific reason (ie. back pain, hip pain, etc)?

Re: Pregnancy Pillow questions

  • Did you use one? If so, which one? The first time, I bought a $10 body pillow at Target. This time, I bought a Snoogle off craigslist because I had heard such great things.

Do you think it was worth the cost? The body pillow, yes, definitely. The Snoogle, no. Well, I only paid $20 for it, so maybe. But I would be upset if I had paid full price; I really don't care for it!

Did you use it for a specific reason (ie. back pain, hip pain, etc)? Lower back pain mostly. When I'm on my left side, I have the body pillow next to me, one leg under and one leg on top. I can't spend the whole night on my left side though, so when I turn over to my right, I just put a small throw pillow between my knees and the body pillow supports my back. (Sometimes I tuck the throw pillow in under my lower back when I'm sleeping on my left too.) I just really need something between my knees, and I didn't like the Snoogle because it kind of forced me to use it as my head pillow too, which wasn't very comfy.

  • Did you use one? If so, which one? I borrowed a Snoogle from another Bumpie.  I was hopeful that it would help with my sciatic pain, but I found a king size pillow between my knees worked better for me.

Do you think it was worth the cost?  N/A

Did you use it for a specific reason (ie. back pain, hip pain, etc)?  Mostly for my back pain and to help support my belly later in the pregnancy.

  • I borrowed the Snugle or whatever it is from my sister, but didn't end up using it very much. When I started to get pretty uncomfortable in bed, I ended up sleeping mostly on the sofa with a pillow between my legs and my back against the back of the sofa. This worked really well for me. Plus, i could fall asleep with the TV on without disturbing John and I got to snuggle with the cat :)

I resisted sleeping on the sofa at first, but next time I'll do it whenever I can!

  • Did you use one? If so, which one? Yes, the Snoogle.

Do you think it was worth the cost? Every penny.

Did you use it for a specific reason (ie. back pain, hip pain, etc)? Just all over discomfort really....back, hip, leg support.

I loved it. I tried an extra pillow, I tried using a King sized pillow. The Snoogle allowed me to sleep through the night with support a LOT longer than I would have without it.

  • Did you use one? If so, which one? I used the Snoogle.

Do you think it was worth the cost? Ehh, probably not. Even though we have a large bed it took up a ton of room and it sucked when I had to get up four times a night to pee.

Did you use it for a specific reason (ie. back pain, hip pain, etc)? I was trying to keep from sleeping on my back since I am a back sleeper, but I would still end up on my back even with the pillow.

  • I use a snoogle. I would not sleep anywhere near as good with out it.  I use it for hip and back pain while sleeping.  I always make sure that part of the snoogle is wrappped between my legs.  I should add I sleep with the snoogle + 2 regular pillows.  I also used it post partum with Lilly.  1 million percent worth the cost!

  • Did you use one? If so, which one? OMG YES!!! The comfort U pillow

Do you think it was worth the cost? and then some!! It was a  lifesaver.

Did you use it for a specific reason (ie. back pain, hip pain, etc)? I just couldn't sleep! I think it was my hip mostly but just uncomfortable. the first time I laid down with the pillow I remember feeling like I was floating on a cloud, I went right to sleep. Mine was huge though DH almost couldn't fit in the bed, LOL.

  • Did you use one? If so, which one? Yep, the Snoogle.

Do you think it was worth the cost? Yes. Plus I got mine at Baby Depot (Burlington Coat Factory) and it was $10 cheaper there than anywhere else I had seen, plus I had a coupon.

Did you use it for a specific reason (ie. back pain, hip pain, etc)? I started using it for hip pain, it felt so much better to tuck the pillow between my knees.

  • Did you use one? If so, which one? Nope.  With kid #2 I borrowed a snoogle but didn't find it comfortable at all so I went with a regular pillow between my legs.  (I had a body pillow for kind #1 and 2 but regular pillow with #3.)

Do you think it was worth the cost? Nope, not for me.

Did you use it for a specific reason (ie. back pain, hip pain, etc)? No, just to sleep more comfortable.

  • I did not use one.  I thought about it but ultimately decided not to because it never would have worked for me.

When I was pg, I was using one to two pillows between my legs (one for thighs and one for knees and lower legs) because of the hip pain, and I used a wedge pillow for my back since the snoogle was too thick since I had to sleep at a slight decline instead of propped totally on my side.  I also had a wedge for my belly, to help hold it up since the decline was keeping space for me.

So ultimately, I know people who swear by their snoogle, but I knew it couldn't work for me because I had to sleep in a different position then it would allow.

  • I use a Snoogle. I like it for the most part. It certainly helps me to fall asleep. Worth the cost? Yes. I was having intense back pain before I got it. Now...I still have some, but not the kind that wakes me up in the middle of the night. For me, the trick to making it work is to have the little "C" underneath my neck and head, the long part against my back and the big "C" curled up between my legs and under my tummy. I should also note that I prefer a lower/flatter pillow under my head.

  • Did you use one? If so, which one?

    Yes, snoogle.

Do you think it was worth the cost?

Yes, it was the only way I slept comfortably.  I would take it with me OOT even after realizing how poorly I slept when I didn't have it with me.  When I evaluate the cost/use, it was definitely worth it.  Especially if/when we have another babe.

Did you use it for a specific reason (ie. back pain, hip pain, etc)?

    Just to sleep more comfortably.
