Risk of DS went from 1:522 to 1:2120.
Risk of Trisomy 13 or 18 went from 1:910 to 1:>10,000.
And the sex test ('Jack or Jill Test' which supposedly searches for unique DNA samples in the mother's blood) indicated the sex we anticipated from the NT scan. If you remember what that was, well done you! We have officially decided to keep it a secret (except for some very select people who can keep secrets), so I'm practicing now.
We will get confirmation of the sex via u/s in the next few weeks, but the test is supposed to be pretty accurate and we'd be totally shocked to learn differently at this point (though equally happy - we have no preference).
Re: Finally got my NT (and sex) test results.
What is the Jack or Jill test? I didn't know there was such a thing that could tell you the sex before the 20 week u/s.
Congrats!

I don't think it's widely available outside Houston, though they may offer a kit for sale? It was free to patients of my OB who do their NT scans there, so we said sure. We wouldn't have paid for it separately. The results are reported to be fairly accurate and anecdotally I haven't found anyone who was given an incorrect result yet.

I went Monday for my scan and gender test. How long did it take for the results to be posted to the phone system?
The lady wouldn't even look to see what she thought. She said she had been wrong many of times and I wOuld know for sure in a few days
I didn't actually check before today, and didn't think they would be ready since they said a week to 10 days. Today was 6 days post-tests. Maybe start checking around 4-5 days?

I'Ve been calling our little one gummy bear to keep away from anything gender specific.
We went to CMG on Fannin near Texas Women's. I went primarily for the NT scan and results, the sex was the freebie.
All the odds were over the phone. They started with the DS risks (gave the before test risk and after test risk) and then the trisomy 13/18 risk (same, before and after) and then the sex results.
GL - I thought I'd be more anxious, but I knew our u/s had gone well and expected good results from the scan. And I've been anxious about finding out the sex. There's a lot mixed up in it for me. No preferences, but a lot of emotion and grieving wrapped around either sex. It just makes me miss my son again in a new way.
But we're pleased things seem to be going well this time and it helps to bond a little with this baby to know what s/he is and call him/her by his/her name.

We've been sticking to 'little parasite' but that seems a little mean. We mean it affectionately, I swear! Need to find a good nickname; 'the heffalump' has been coming out a bit more lately, for reasons neither of us can articulate.
