Heart breaking for DS

Okay - big picture I know he'll be fine... But in the moment my heart is breaking for his little heart. He made his first best friend this year when a new girl joined his preschool class. He's gotten along with other kids before, but this was his first real friend. The first time he's ever sought out a particular kid to play with, the first time he talked about another kid from school at home. We just found out her parents are pulling her from the school. My poor baby will be so lost without his best friend at school. It just sucks. Why can't it be the bratty kid constantly fighting with everyone who is going elsewhere? Yes, we'll plan playdates - but it won't be the same. I'm dreading the "I don't want to go to school because BF isn't going to be there."
