I REALLY need some MS tips PLEASE!

Hi ladies,

I have had awful morning sickness lasting until 3 in the afternoon for the last week and a half. I cannot keep anything down and have absolutely no appetite! The crackers and ginger ale are doing nothing for me. Does anyone have any tips or tricks that I can try? I am desperate! I feel like my little bean isn't getting enough nutrition because I can't keep anything down and its stressing me out.

Thanks in advance. :)

If it's that bad, I would try calling my Dr or speaking to the nurse. They can prescribe medicine to help. Zofran is a common one.

oooh dry fruit loops? Im going to try that! Ive got to buy a big bag of peppermint candies too, because if I have to drink another glass of ginger ale I think THAT will be the reason Im throwing up!

I have been eating peppermints before I try to eat anything else. It has helped me! Hope something helps! I also had to break down and get some Zofran which does wonders.

I had really bad hyperemesis with my first pregnancy and was put on Zofran. It was the only thing that allowed me to keep food down. If you haven't kept food down for a week and a half, it is time to call your doctor and ask for a script.

Definitely give your OB a call. Other than that, sweet tarts helped me a lot. I'm also sick of ginger ale, but Perrier water (lemon and citron flavors are my favorite). It's expensive though, so I've been sipping on club soda with a bit if lemon and lime juice mixed in.

Thanks for your help ladies :) I should specify that after 3 in the afternoon, Ive been stuffing my face because thats when the nausea finally backs off. So I have been eating, just not for the first half of the day. :)

My ob-gyn said B6 three times a day (25mg) and unisom (full pill at bedtime, half in the morning if you can without falling back to sleep).  It's been amazingly helpful!  Also, you can get B6/ginger combo pills at Whole Foods, those are amazing.  Basically, anything your body thinks it wants that it can keep down is good.  Call your doctor if you're having trouble keeping liquids down, dehydration is dangerous for you and baby!  Good luck and I hope you feel better!

Hot tea in the morning that has ginger as one of the spices has been the only thing that has helped me.   B-Natel pops are similar to the preggo-pops, but include B6.  They help some, but only after I have the main nausea of the day under control with my hot tea.

I found that making sure i got enough sleep, drank a lot of water, and excercised (yes, even though you're completely exhausted!) helped me tons!! Also, eating lots of snacks and small meals throughout the day. even when I'm not hungry, I know to eat an apple or something every two hours.  In the morning, also try not to rush!!  Slowly take the time getting out of bed, eat something almost as soon as you get up, and take it easy the first hour or two from being awake.  Hope this helps!

Eat something before you get out of bed. I munch on a couple crackers and pop a peppermint disc in my mouth.

Seabands, vitamin B6+Unisom (which will make you tired BUT it's better than nausea), sour candies or jolly ranchers, ginger candies, my SIL swore by beans (which I was always too disgusted to try but I throw it out there if it sounds good to you).

If it's really bad, call and talk to your doc about Zofran. Especially if you are losing weight and not keeping foods and liquids down, they're going to want to get you something. I got severely dehydrated and hospitalized in my first pregnancy because I was throwing up so much but didn't call the doc (this was before my first appointment) to see if there was something more I could do.

Vitamin B6 with Unisom worked for me.  Zofran is really good for making you constipated..FYI.

If you take a Colace with the Zofran it'll help that. I took Zofran for 1/2 my first pregnancy and almost all of my 2nd pregnancy and took it with Colace and never had constipation issues.

I swear by Warheads.  I only had m/s for a few days, but it was awful.  I read somewhere that sour helps, and it's true.  GL!

Ginger pills have helped me quite a bit.  When those don't work, I resort to Zofran.  But, I try to avoid taking it when I can because of the constipation issue.
