Janie & Jack sizing?

I am going to order a couple things for C off of their website to wear for Christmas.  Based on the sizing chart he'd be in a 12-18 months comfortably right now.  Obviously Christmas is a couple months away.  Do they run big, small, or right on target?  In typical Carters outfits etc.  his 12 month stuff is barely fitting but the 18-month stuff is really too big still.  Normally I'd buy the size up but I do want it to fit him well right at Christmas, and I may have him wear it for pictures for our Christmas card which I would have taken in the next few weeks.

What size would you order? 12-18 or 18-24?

I asked a store employee once and was told that Layette runs pretty true to size but everything up from that runs big.  Their pants definitely seem on the longer side to me.  I'd do 12-18 since it's for Christmas.

Really big.  Even on my enormous 13 month old.  I bought his stuff for xmas in 18-24 and the top will be fine, but I'm still concerned the pants will be too long.

BIG! my dd can wear a 2t in many brands, but their 2t's swim on her!

Hmm...this is awkward.  I was going to say their stuff runs small.  DD barely fit in their 3-6 month clothes last Christmas...but that may have been because she was a little chunk.  lol

My 12 month old is 29lbs 8 ounces, and 33 inches, she fits perfectly in 18-24 month clothing there.
