Re: ugh nap time...
We were at this point last week. We figured we would address nighttime sleep first and then work on naps. Our "sleep training" has consisted of a bath, 3 books (always ending with Goodnight Moon), the we sing Jesus loves you, and he is out. We were trying to get him down by 8, but over the course of the week he has moved his bed time earlier and goes down and out at 6.45pm and didnt get up this morning until 7.30. He did get up to eat around 3.30am and did wake up everytime he rolled onto his belly, but the bedtime put down is not a screamfest like it used to be. He finally figured out that it is ok to sleep on his belly, so I am hoping that the the middle of the night wake-ups will decrease.
He cried for all of 3 minutes before taking a nap this morning. We read 3 books and sang Jesus loves me. He only slept for 45 minutes, but heck, it wasnt WW3 to get him down, so I will gladly take it.
Im not sure if you were looking for advice or not. I just know that DH and I were looking for anything that would work. I really didnt want to have to do a structured routine, but it is what works for Avery, so it is what we need to do.
It will be harder to address nap time routine since he is at daycare during the week, but I can hope. Good Luck!
