Restricting travel over an hour away?

Hi girls!  I am due January 8th and all the holiday festivities fall after I am 36 weeks along.  I have my ob appointment next Friday and am going to ask this, but was wondering if your obs wanting to keep you within a 60-mile radius from the hospital?  All my family lives a little over an hour away.  I am high risk and may be on bedrest at that time, but its difficult to say at this point.  Just curious what the "norm" is.  Thanks!

    I am too early to have this conversation with my OB, but I know that my insurance says that if I leave an hour radius from my hospital after 36 weeks they do not cover my delivery if it happens while away.

    As pp said it is more of an insurance issue then anything else.

    When I was pregnant with DS they told me 2 hours, but we live just outside of DC and in this area it can take 2 hours to go 10 miles during rush hour.
