Can someone tell me which sling was recalled a while back?

I was at Once Upon a Child yesterday and saw that they had an Infantino "Sling Rider" for sale. I thought that this was the sling that was recalled a year or two earlier but couldn't remember for sure. Is that the one?

  • I believe that's the one.

  • If your run across a bag-style sling, don't get it.  There are other companies (like Eddie Bauer) who make/made bag-style carriers.  They hold the baby too low (around the parents waist); force the baby into a C-shaped position which puts his chin to his chest; cover the baby's face; and lack adjustability

Pouches, ring slings, mei tais, wraps and soft-structured carriers are safe.

Oh I was not about to purchase it. I just wanted to make sure it was the recalled one before I called and spoke with the manager about them selling a recalled product when they promote the fact that they don't sell recalled products.

I have to be more careful from now on. I have gotten a few things here there from Once Upon a Child. Thanks for the heads up!

  • I saw the same sling at a Once Upon A Child and didn't say anything either because I wasn't sure if it was the right one. When I went back to tell them, it was gone. I hope someone didn't buy it.

  • ALL of the Sling Riders have now been recalled, regardless of year. If you see one, try to get it removed. If you can't... you could buy it and exchange it for another infantino product (mei-tai style carrier, cart cover, toys, etc). The recall page pays shipping for part of the product and sends you the replacement free of charge.
  • it is against the law for them to sell a recalled item.

Yes it is the Infantino Sling Rider and they need to take it off the shelves! You can let them know they can exchange it for a brand new infantino product and they can sell that instead
