4 more weeks!!!

SO ready to meet baby girl!  Days are tiring and my feet are now swelling.  Tomorrow I have my 36 week check-up, Strep B test, internal exam, and maybe a flu shot.  I don't know whether to look forward to this exam or dread it!  :-) Happy Friday, all!

Re: 4 more weeks!!!

  • No worries... it's no biggie... I had my Strep B culture at 33 weeks, got a flu shot at work, and internal exams at both 33 weeks and this week (36).  They really are nothing to worry about.  Good luck at your appointment!

  • HI! Congrats on getting to the end...im due nov 2nd and getting induced that day because im not dilating with this pregnancy (#2) but very much excited..I had my strep b test 2 weeks ago and (if this is your first) you dont feel it at all..he/she just swabs internally. I didn't have to get the flu shot because the doctor was afraid I would get the flu (had it twice before) since most the time the shot gives it to most people. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

  • This years flu shot is a dead virus, not the live one...so it cant give you the actual flu.  It may make you feel a little "sicky" but it wont give you the flu.

  • Hey--looks like we're due date twins...so ditto on everything you wrote (except the flu shot).  I have my 36 week check up tomorrow too.  It's strange to think about looking forward to someone sticking their hand up in your lady bits...but it's so true!  I want to know what's happening in there...

  • I had my first internal and the strep B test on Tuesday (flu shot was done a few weeks ago).  I was nervous for the internal but it really wasn't bad at all - a pap smear is much more uncomfortable!  The Strep B test for really fast and just a quick swipe.  I didn't realize my doctor had even done it when he held up the swab and said it was done.

    Good luck!

  • I had my 36 wk appointment Monday and the Strep B test was far less invasive then I expected. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I also got my flu shot and feel just fine. Although, I get to wait till my next appointment for the internal exam. I always hate those. At very least you get to have that over and done with. Good luck with your appointment. I'm sure everything will go well.

  • I wanted to have an internal today and was expecting one since they are going to be inducing during the early 39th week.

The nurse originally said they start them at 38. I know I had more than 2 with DS and I never hit my 40 week appt. I also explaining I would be induced for GD and I was told that the appt after my Group B they would do an internal.

Dr came in and no internal. Didn't even tell me why or anything. I really didn't like this new Dr... see previous post... but anyway. I wanted to see if I have ANY progress.

    That's true.

If I tell myself 6 more weeks and it comes in 3, I'll feel better.
