Girl Names.. again... ugh WDYT

Hi ladies, So I just threw a post about this up on baby names, but of course wanted to share with the Novie crew..

So I just put up her name badge on my sig and guess what seeing it in writing? I really don't think I like it anymore! Oh my god.. this name thing is HELL! I really can't do another round of the baby name book anytime soon without very possibly passing out haha!

Ideas... ideas... ideas... PLEASE!

Past names have been Charlotte, Kiley, Abigail "Abbie", Lorelei, ummm and like a dozen more but I am open to ALL suggestions... so get those creative minds going!!

*If you haven't seen any of my past posts about this Avamarie comes from FI and I liking Ava and adding MIL and both SILs mns to it (we thought it was too short by itself) and Elizabeth is my mn.

  • Instead of Avamarie...maybe Annmarie.

Or maybe just use the FN Elizabeth; the name has so many nn options. DH and I almost went with it and for this reason it is on our short list for possible future DD#2.

  • I'm not a big fan of Ann... and I'd love to use Elizabeth, but too many family/friends have the name already :( it is such a pretty name!

  • I like Ava, and don't think it is too short by itself.  Seems timeless and a great name in my opinion.

  • How about...

    Ava Marie

    Ava Elizabeth

    Charlotte Marie

    Charlotte Elizabeth

    Abigail Elizabeth

    Abigail Marie

Not sure if you like these names but these are on our "short list":  Meredith, Eden, Amelia, Greta and all would sound nice with Elizabeth or Marie as middle names.

  • I like Avamarie!  It's pretty and it has meaning.  Ava by itself is fairly common but, Avamarie is uncommon without being weird or sounding made up.  I think it's really beautiful.

The other names that you mentioned are nice but, all super popular and they don't have anything special about them.  I would go with a name that honors family over a name you just picked randomly from a book any day.  Her name is the first gift you will give this baby and she will have it her whole life.  I really think it should have meaning beyond just being something you thought was pretty one week.

  • I personally really like Avamarie. It's timeless without being so common there will be 15 of them in her first grade class. Then again, I'm a big fan of timeless names. I figure naming the kid something that is sweet when they're little and not embarrassing on a business card when they're 40 is the key.
