How "clean" is your house before they come over?

What areas are the most helpful for them to focus on when they're here?

If it's a one-time thing, do you tip them?!

 

Can you tell I've never had anyone clean my house before - I'm giddy with excitement !!!!

My house is tidy but definitely not clean when they come. Toys are off the floor snd in bins so they can sweep, mop and vaccum. Sink, countertops are empty so they can be bleached. My cleaners strip my beds and change sheets so I leave beds unmade and clean sets out.

We had our house professionally cleaned when it was on the market to be sold.  Things were picked up but I didn't do any actual cleaning before hand.    I don't think we tipped them. 

We had them focus on the bathrooms and kitchen.  Then they dusted, swept, and mopped in the other rooms.  Some people have them do laundry, change bed sheets, etc.  We did not have them do that.

I just usually make sure counters and furniture surfaces are free from extra stuff.  I also put my son's toys away.  I have not done a one time cleaning....
