please tell me someone else is being "teased"

Almost daily now for the past two weeks, I have had timeable contractions that get closer together and more intense for anywhere between five to six hours, and then they disappear. They don't go away with a warm shower, walking, water, or laying down. They just randomly disappear.

It is getting really irritating.

ETA:

It's gotten to the point where I'm almost willing to let my CPM friend strip my membranes. She claims a 100% success rate - but I don't want to force my kid out yet.

  • I've been having these same symptoms since 21 weeks, as preterm labor, but since you're already 38 1/2 weeks its probably more of an irregular early labor.  Annoying, yes, but you're almost there!  GL!

  • I'm with you on the being teased. My OB (and L&D) pretty much told me I'm stuck in some sort of limbo between prelabor and real labor. I go in tomorrow AM to start making decisions. Good luck to you!

  • I've been having the same issue for about a week. Also, lots MP and had bloody show within the past few days. Today I feel like absolute crap. I keep any food down and just feel run down. I had my first hormonal breakdown of both pregnancies last night and cried and whined to poor DH for over an hour. I don't know how much more I can take. Tomorrow I have an OB appt (and my first cervical check since 36 weeks). If I get good news (re: progress) I will be asking for a membrane sweep. If I do not get good news I will be trying my best not to lose my sh!t and throw a fit in front of my poor OB.

This was me last week! haha I did not get good news and as soon as she left I started to cry. She probably thought something was wrong with me because while she was in the room I couldn't even talk. It took me like ten minutes to get dressed and finally leave the office. haha Oh boy this is rough!
