I went back in to the RE this morning and I am bummed and confused. Had to see a different doc, which is fine, but try though he might he could not find the one 14 follie on my left side that was there on Friday. WTH?? Even if it stopped growing, it would not totally disappear, right? And he only found 4 on the right side, when there was 5 last time.
Has this happened to anyone? The nurse tried to say that during ER they will really dig around looking for every follie since you're out (today was really uncomfortable with all the pushing and prodding) ... so she was sure they would get whatever was in there.
I guess I am feeling really down because while I really wanted things to *improve* (i.e. a few more follies this visit than last), I was prepared for them to be the same, and I certainly didn't expect the news to get worse??
Sigh. I was never a big roller coaster fan.
Re: 10 day follie check - what ??
Yes.....I have also found this to be a problem in some of my IVF attempts. Seems like skill of u/s tech is what it's all about. For me, I get better #of follies on my weekend checks at downtown location (I think they have newer equipment)
Don't let it stress you too much.....doesn't sound like your cycle is at risk of being cancelled d/t poor response. Follies don't go away....but can hide behind others that have grown larger. Good luck with your next check-will that be tomorrow?
Thank you so much... that makes me feel so much better! They aren't going to cancel me, at least! But the doc today said, "to be honest I think you will get 4 at retrieval". Ughhhh.. That was hard to hear. I call my regular RE Dr. Sunshine because he is the consumate optimist. So I guess I needed some Dr. Sunshine today! I will be seeing him tomorrow at 7:30am.
I am hoping that this is the case! I would seriously be thinking WTF, if this happened to me!
I am also finding the U/S skills must vary quite a lot between users (I get NPs doing them where I go, not the REs), because my first check was super uncomfortable and slow, while the next one was gentle, quick, and a piece of cake.
