So let's hear what some of you ladies are going to play to keep yourself going or relaxed! I'm very much a party music/techno/pop person so my song list will have fast upbeat music.

My musical tastes vary wildly with my mood, so I'm putting together a group of mix CDs. Most of them are mixes just sitting in my collection, but I am burning a couple of new ones to help keep myself energized. I somehow see quite a bit of hard rock/heavy metal making it in, since that's what I use to exercise and I see me needing that little boost.

I haven't decided yet. I started working on this a couple days ago and discovered that my collection is really, really out of date. Last time I put together several playlists that were different genres so that I could pick one based on my mood. Who knows, I might be in a metal mood or I might be in a rap mood.

Mine will be all across the board - from electronic chill to Pink Floyd and from ocean waves to 90s grunge. I'm putting a bunch of stuff on the iPod to suit many a mood.
I am not sure if I will want to listen to music because when I'm in pain or am stressed I usually prefer peace and quiet. However, I do have a few Christmas CDs packed -- they are strictly instrumental and have nature sounds (water, birds) in the background.
Radiohead, Pearl Jam, and Third Eye Blind for sure. I actually have yet to figure out my playlist. Last time I just had my iPod on shuffle. DS was born to TV On the Radio's "Province."
I made two different play lists to go on our ipad. I made a calm playlist and one for energy. I might switch back and fourth depending on how I feel.
The calm one is mostly uplifting, inspiring, but slower songs like Wheel of the World and Twisted by Carrie Underwood, You Are Loved by Josh Groban, What A Wonderful World and Hold On by Michael Buble, Come Away With Me and Sunrise by Norah Jones, Breathe and Forever Love by Anna Nalick, Turn to Stone and Keep Breathing by Ingrid Michaelson and more to that effect.
The energy one is upbeat, strong, fun exciting songs like I Am Woman by Jordin Sparks, Keep Your Head Up by Andy Grammer, Feels Like Tonight by Daughtry, Carolina by Parmalee, Feels Like Today by Rascal Flatts, Don't You Know You're Beautiful by Kelly Pickler, Fighter by Christina Aguilera. Songs like that.
My friends seem to think I'm crazy for wanting upbeat instead of "nature and soothing" sounds....those frankly irritate me on a good day.
I don't have the list beside me(it has everything from Metallica to Bruno Mars to Keith Urban and Lady Gaga) but one of them is the LMFAO "Sexy & I Know It". I love it, especially considering I'll be at my most unsexy moment I also have Sweet Child of Mine, Fuel by Metallica & It Will Rain by Bruno Mars. Super eclectic mix and not necessarily about children or inspirational, just something to get me through labour!
