Milk in sippy-which has worked for you?

I've tried a lot of sippy cups to get DD to take milk from a sippy cup. She's good with drinking water from it, but not milk! Most of them have been the harder spouts but they've been all different shapes. What sippy cup has worked for your LO? Should I try one with a soft spout?

Re: Milk in sippy-which has worked for you?

  • DD will NOT drink milk from a sippy, straw cup, anything but a bottle.  She'll drink a whole sippy of water, I believe it's pure stubbornness and has nothing to do with ability to drink out of a sippy or the type of cup.

  • Nuby and Playtex have worked best for us.

  • Nuby and Munchkin (soft spouts) work for us.

  • We use the Playtex straw sippy for water and the Tommee Tippee hard spout explora for milk (it has a silicone coating on the spout, and he likes that). He won't drink milk out of his straw sippy or a Nuby soft spout I tried.

  • DD loves the Playtex cups.

  • We just switched to THIS about a month ago. They DO NOT LEAK and our little pea drinks milk like it's goin outta style!

  • She drinks her water and milk from the same brand/type cup, the Munchkin ones.
  • What # nipple was she using w/ the bottles -- slow, medium or fast?  My son was using a #4 avent nipple (fast). I figured out that w/ A LOT of the sippys, he was actually getting less milk out of it than with his bottle, and he would get very frustrated (i.e. the munchkin cups).  I finally found the BornFree drinking cup (as opposed to the training cup).  It has a harder spout but a weaker valve so he doesn't have to suck as hard and the liquid is more free-flowing.  Good luck!

  • DS will only drink milk out of a straw sippy. I have tried the spout sippy (both soft and hard spout) but it hasn't worked.

    DITTO THIS

    DS is almost 2 and the only way he'll drink milk is in a bottle.   I've tried not giving him a bottle and he's fine with that, but as long as there is no milk in a cup..  i think i have tried every type of kid cup out there (and adult cup/glass) ...  I'm giving myself until 3 ;

  • My DD never liked the hard or soft spouts.  After a month of trying those, we went straight to a straw at 7 months.  The best we have is Zoli.
