Black dress for my shower

Do you think it would look ok to wear a black dress, or is that too drabby? Its knee length and has a fitted turtleneck and short sleeves. I would wear it with gray tights with the bottoms cute out and  gray/black heels. WDYT?

Or should I go find something colorful?

I'm a fan of black - all year around.  It's so easy to dress up or down.
