I posted this on the PT area, but of course got no answers, so thought maybe you ladies could share some light! Here's the post:
DD is basically PT at DC, she is in panties all day and they put her on the potty every 30 minutes and she has not had any accidents since starting last Thursday. Now at home, totally different story. She'll tell me she has to go but it's usually right after she pees. I know it's a different enviornment than DC where all the kids are going so they're more excited, but still. She'll sit on there for 10 minutes and never pee, but as soon as she gets up, she pees. Very frustrating. I have the 3DPT book and plan to use it in the next couple of months if it doesn't start to click with her at home. I tried putting her on every 30 minutes like at DC, that didn't fly to well with her, she pitched fits. Ughhhh. Any tips out there?
Re: PT at DC but not home?
Same with us! DS even naps w/ o a diaper at DC and goes to the bathroom entirely on his own - as in my DCP will look around and not see him because he's in the bathroom doing his thing!
But as soon as we get home, "diaper on!". And he'll even go and get one.
I'm not pushing it yet, but I do think we're going to get to a weekend where we're going to go diaperless and I'm going to do what DC did at first - up him on every hour. And basically follow DC's steps and hope it will click in for him at home too.

My DS was like this- DC basically PT'd him. For him, it was that he is in a center and they hit a phase in May last year where most of the kids in his room were potty training. Every hour, they line the PTing kids up and they check all the diapered kid's diapers, and DS decided he wanted to be part of the PTing line and not in a diaper. At home, he had no interest. He would have an accident right away and ask for his diaper. We just had to go cold turkey and have a lot of accidents at home, it took maybe 3 or 4 days? When he asked for a diaper, we told him that he was a big boy and had to use the potty. When he had an accident, we stopped TV (if he was watching) or playing and he had to "help" me clean it up, so that he had to stop playing for at least 5 minutes for every accident. He learned pretty quick that if he went on the potty, he only had to stop playing for a minute or two. Good luck!
