Ok ladies, I have had two mc. One at 9 weeks and one at 18. When I went in for my first appt. No hb! Doc rescheduled me one week out and told me it may be to early and not to worry. Of course I did! Sure enough one week later the hb was a ticking. I was so excited and told myself that I would do everything to prevent from worrying. So I rented a fetal heart Doppler. OMG....best thing ever. Cramo Cramping, grab the monitor, hear the hb. Having to good of a day, monitor, hb! Sex,lol, monitor, hb! It is Sokol reassuring. I must admit. When I got the monitor I was 9 weeks and could not hear anything. So yes that did make me nervous! When I got to 10 weeks the hb was vivid. Now that I am almost 12, it is solo easy to hear the hb! Ladies it is zoo worth it. My husband actually found it the first time. It was a great bond! Check it out!
Re: Rent a Doppler to ease worry ASAP!!!!
I have to agree with you. I have my own that I got on amazon and I love it...

Lucky for me I work part time at an awesome animal hospital where we have multiple doppler units and a super sophisticated ultrasound machine. They are actually higher quality than my ob's office
It is a game for the techs to try to find the baby and the hb when I work! LOL

heres the Angelsounds....
Unless you know exactly what you are doing, it is easy to mistake the mother's heartbeat for the baby's. When I was pg with DD there were a lot of people getting more freaked out because they couldn't find the heartbeat with the dopller and would end up freaked out in the Dr's office.
If you buy one, just make sure you know that you may have problems finding the heartbeat which could freak you out, but everything could still be fine.
Personally, I don't see the point. Having a doppler will not prevent something bad from happening, and it would drive me crazy - I would be obsessed with trying to find the heartbeat.
I just bought this one... GREAT Bargin! Free Shipping too!

That's a great doppler, the same one I have. Not really a bargain though, since it cost that much everywhere else. I bought mine from amazon for that much (and free shipping)...
Meh. The doppler provided some of my happiest/best memories of my son, but we've had a hard time find the h/b this pregnancy. Granted it's still early, but it's caused me some stress, and the baby is just fine.
You have to know that some people don't consistently find a heartbeat until 14-15 weeks, and even then it's not necessarily always easy to find. If you can handle that, get the doppler. If it's freaking you out, don't. It's hard to just put it aside when you are worried.
