Braxton hicks already?

I feel like i have been having braxton hicks contractions the last few days when I am active. I dont remember this happening this early with my 1st pregnancy but then again, i would probably not known what I was feeling.Thoughts?

Re: Braxton hicks already?

  • Wow, I thought I was having them early with this pregnancy (baby #3) and I started noticing them around 24 weeks.

  • I've been having them too. Since about...15 or 16 weeks, maybe? I got really concerned when I first felt them, but Dr says everything's a-okay.

  • Mine started much earlier with this pregnancy than with my first.  My doctor says not to be concerned unless they become patterned.  She did encourage me to get more fluids as it can be a sign of dehydration.

  • Up your fluid intake and that should help them subside.  That's what the OB always told me before.

  • With my son, I got them when I was sixteen weeks and it seems that this pregnancy is the same.

  • I've been getting them since about 20 or 21 weeks.  It wasn't bad at first, just felt super strange to have a muscle tighten up all by itself. Now they are getting more uncomfortable, I swear LO gets pissed that his little home gets smaller and I think he fights back.  I have BH whenever I stand up from sitting, or when I'm on my feet alot, when my bladder is too full, and all sorts of other things.  My doctor suggested maybe I have an "irritable uterus"... where simple things like top of jeans rubbing funny, LO kicking just right will make it contract. Holy annoying, batman... but maybe all these practice contractions will make my uterus a pro in real labor - I'll just keep wishing that :)
