Is your child allowed to wear their costume to school?

Does your child's school allow Halloween parties?

Re: Halloween Costumes and Parties at school?

  • In kinder the kids wear their costumes to school and they have a party.

In 2nd they change into their costumes after lunch for a parade and party and then change out before going to gym.

In 5th they change after lunch for the parade and party which is followed by a Halloween movie.

    .
  • The kids change before our "parade". Then we have parties after they do a dance in the gym after the parade. Then they change, and go home. It is one of my least favorite days of school, lol

  • Our school celebrates Halloween. Each class has a Halloween party. Kids, teachers, admin and volunteers all wear costumes. The costumes cannot have blood, knives, swords, guns or any blood.

The kindergarteners have a parade. The line up and go through every classroom. Everyone cheers.

  • Yes!  They have a parade and dress up at school.

  • Yes they dress up the day of Halloween(no makeup or masks allowed, just the costumes).  They have a Halloween Carnival in the gym and then have a classroom party, then weather permitting they have a parade.  It's a 1/2 day of school on Halloween so they dedicate it to doing all Halloween stuff.
  • yes, they do them from PS to 5 th grade.  Kind of annoys me actually.

We send costumes separately and they change into them for the Halloween parade.

  • Pre-K yes - they have a party on 10-28.  k-6 (at the same school) no.  They have a fall festival on Sat the 29th and the kids come dressed in costume for that and they do a parade and games and pancakes and other fun stuff.  The classes are able to have parties but no dressing up.

  • I have no idea what this year is going to bring but last year for Kindergarten they were allowed to wear costumes sans mask.

  • DD's school changed things up this year (used to have a Halloween Party in the afternoon) and their Halloween parade and parties are right after drop-off. (School starts at 8:10, parade starts at 8:30) They're to come in costume and will change out of it after the parade. The school is thinking since they're having morning parties they'll be more breakfast-oriented (fresh fruit, baked goods, etc.) and less candy-related.
