Hi all,
I'm a first time poster on the baby names board, but I'm a long time stalker.. .I mean lurker. I had my first baby last November, Evelyn Lorraine, and am due with my second little girl at the end of Dec/1st part of January. I'm really struggling with the name of our second daughter. We tend to like more traditional, classic, vintagy style names. Some first names that we've tossed around are -
- Anna (nice, but simple. Need a good middle name with this one)
- Annelise (not sure of spelling yet. We're worried that this might be too much of a mouthful when combined with Evelyn)
- Annabel (cute, but is it too out there?)
- Charlotte (beautiful name, but quite popular according to the boards)
- Hannah (pretty name, but popular)
Given these name styles, do you have any suggestions for first and middle names? - or do you have any favorites from this list? Also, some family names for middle name consideration are Katherine, Mary, Alice, and Florence - I'm just not sold on any of them.
Thanks for the help ladies!!
Re: Girl name input
I love Alice as a first name.
Alice Katherine
Also, I love Annabelle (spelled that way).
Annabelle Elise
Really love Charlotte, too, but it is a bit more trendy.
Other lovely names I would add to your list for first and/or middle name ideas:
Cecilia
Pearl
Rose
Marielle
Lilla
Beatrice
You have great taste in names!
I LOVE the name Anna Katherine! I also love Anna Claire.
I actually really like all the names you have listed, except Florence. Based on your likes, how about:
Elizabeth
Victoria
Lucy
Georgia
Virginia
Caroline
Carolyn
Claudia
Suzanne
Obviously, I like Evelyn and Charlotte together.
I love Anna. I think Anna Katherine and Anna Mary are nice.
I love Annelise, but I do think it will be a ton twister with Evelyn.
Annabel is eh for me. Too close to all the Isabelles/Bellas that are out there.
Hannah is pretty.
We picked Evelyn first (it was a family name) and the other names we considered besides Charlotte were:
Clara
Greta (which would have been my choice, but DH wasn't fully on board)
Rosalie
Violet
Lucy
Millicent
Also - names we didn't really consider, but I love:
Lydia
Iris
Josephine
Penelope
Genevieve
Camille
My furchildren, Dorothy and Johnny
I love older vintagey names too hence Scarlet and Tess Marion and Florence were my grandmothers and I would def. use them as MN's if I had another. (used our Moms for DD's) Not a fan of Annelise or Annabel or Hannah but do love just Anna..
suggestions- Matilda, Helena, Maeve, Mabel, Grace (I know its uber pop MN these days but I don't know one little girl with it!) Louisa, Caroline
