They are going to Clark's Elioak Farm on Thursday. They are going to go to the petting zoo and pick pumpkins, take a hayride, DD is very excited about it. We started talking about it last night/this morning and she was very curious about the school bus and wanted to know if it was going to be a big bus or a little bus and if there would be baby ducks at the farm. I don't think there will be any ducks at all. ... .She's going to get upset when she realizes she can't do a pony ride like she normally does there.
I feel bad that I can't go, but I already have to take off one day that week b/c daycare is closed for a teacher work day is the best idea and I can't just take off 2 days in a row. My friend is going though and she assured me and the other parents that she'll take lots of pics of the kids!
Re: DD has her first field trip this week - and she could not be more excited
She is going to have a blast!
DDs class is going to the pumpkin patch/farm @ blob's park on Thursday. It's gross and I am not really looking forward to it and when I told her about it she didn't seem too excited, but hopefully she will come around. We went last year and it's a zoo/hot mess.
DH's CW said there's a petting zoo at Blob's/near Blob's that's really fun.
Yeah- it's probably the same one. It's HUGE and they have tons of buses from schools come there, so it can get overwhelming pretty fast- like bigger kids running around, etc. Last year it was really muddy and gross too- this year it will probably still be pretty soggy.
I know that there are "nicer" pumpkin patches + farms, but @ $9 a person including a pumpkin (over age 2) I think this is one of the better deals?
the animal situation kind of skeeves me out- the animals don't live there permanently, they are in these temporary pens and I guess go into trailers at night? I don't know- I don't really like the way the animals are kept.
I think that's where my DDs home daycare is going tomorrow. Howard County schools are out so I don't know how crazy it will be... I can't go, but I hope to see pictures. We took her to a pumpkin patch near my ILs a couple weeks ago and she loved it, tried to pick up every single pumpkin, even though they were too big.
