It looks like we are moving...YIKES!!!

Please keep this off FB =)

I posted yesterday about the low ball offer. DH countered back -500 of the asking price. Holy crap they accepted!!

They want the swing set and trampoline in the deal and that's fine with me. They also want our movie screen/projector in the movie room.

The biggest thing I am struggling with is that we won't have a real home for Christmas and now I have to pack everything up again. We are going to look for a rental in the school district we need to be in because we can't break ground for awhile.

  • WOW!  How crazy that they went up to (nearly) your list in just one offer!  Shows they were just trying to mess with you.

GL on your rental search - hope you find something awesome (and a good deal) so you can enjoy the holidays.

As for Christmas, all you really need is your family - I'm sure you find an awesome way to make it special.

  • Wow! Congrats! I guess the other posters were right that they were just lowballing to see how desperate you were. I'm glad you countered!

  • Congratulations! We sold our home right about this time four years ago and we built the one we're in now, so in the meantime we lived in IL's old house (they had moved out, just hadn't sold it yet). We had to spend Christmas there and it was different, we had a tiny tree and hardly any decorations because everything was packed up, but we survived and it was fine. The worst part was that somehow in the move our charger for the camera's battery went missing so we took all our holiday pics on a disposable camera...and then the disposable got broken. So we have almost no pics from Christmas that year. I think the excitement of building over shadows a lot of the stress of being in a temporary home, though. Have fun building!

  • We sold our old home on Dec 16th and bought our new one on the 17th - crazy time to move, but Christmas was still salvaged... you'll be fine. :)

  • Wow!  Great news!  Best of luck in your search for a rental.
  • Congrats! Building is quite the process. I don't think DH would ever do it again, but I loved it!

  • Wow - that's exciting!

GL with finding a rental you can live in until your new home is complete. Christmas is what you make of it. And so long as you remember that, it will be a lovely holiday with great memories.
