We heard this name the other day and over time it has grown on us. We generally like traditional names ie: DD's name Amelia, so we are a little surprised we like this one so much.

Is it too "hippie"? Thoughts?
I like it Luminor I think would work well too, if you don't like the b*tches that put "Tick" after, but if you like the name, use it! I think it's pretty

Seriously? Because someone pointed out that an easy tease for Luna would be "Luna-tic" you're calling them that? She asked for honest reactions.

It's my guilty pleasure name, I'm a giant Harry Potter fan and Luna Lovegood is freakin' awesome! That said, I don't think I'd ever use it IRL. And I don't think it goes well with your DD's name.
I know too many IRL. It's cute, but I don't want to hear it on another baby. I know 2 Lunas in my neighborhood alone (both around DD's age, 1 in her pre-school), plus 2 good friends outside NYC with daughters the same age named Luna AND one of my clients has a granddaughter named Luna (age 2 or so). That's too many Lunas in my life.
I have a soft spot for this name. I think its beautiful. I do make the Luna/Harry Potter connection, but like someone else said, it's not a bad connection for me... She was my fav character in the books. I personally wouldn't use it though, only because of the "looney" potential for teasing. But I would love to meet a little Luna irl!
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
I love Luna. So pretty and feminine. It's on my list too. It does seem like a very different type of name than your DDs name, but I don't agree that all your children's name HAVE to "go together" or be the same style. Your kids will be different people and you're allowed to like a diversity of types of names. If you decide it's the right name for this LO, go for it!
I do think of it as "hippie",but I love it anyways. If you are worried about using a name that is a little too different, you could use it as a MN.

Yup! This and Sailor Moon are my only connections. I think it's more of a pet's name, but it could work.
Mommy loves you Eevee!

I think of this or the fact that I know of pets named Luna and no people.
Maybe use it as a nickname or a middle name that you call her by? I would just want to give her options if she doesn't like it as an adult.
Bubblegum Explosion
This.
I love it
Definitely make the HP connection, but that is a good thing in my book!!

I like it..
I wouldn't have gotten the HP connection (but i've never read the books or seen any of the movies...)
There was a girl named Luna who rented our place before us..
Ditto, my friend.
This!

Oh this is a total guilty pleasure name for me! If I could talk DH into it, I would totally use it.
Yes, I do think of HP right away, but I also think of the Jason Mraz song "Bella Luna."
Love this name!
I think it's pretty (I even like the celeb-crazy Stellaluna, in its own right), but I can't get over the insanity-association.
Just the other day, a doctor at work was talking about how he refuses to go to the behavioral health floor on full moons...
