I *really* want to get my bbs done. They have gone waaay south since having kids, but I'm scared of complications and issues long-term. So tell me your story, if you don't mind. Thank you!!!
I'm curious to know too. After 1 kid they looked awful, I can only imagine what they will look like in a few months.
Anyone care to share the cost too?
I got mine done in 2005 and I have zero regrets. justbreastimplants.com is a great forum for info. I went for a natural look, so they fit my body size. I have saline since silicone was only available through studies or reconstruction when I had mine done. You are restricted from lifting over 5 pounds for a couple of weeks. If you like going to the gym then you can get back into light cardio in about 2 weeks. So if you have small children you will need help lifting in and out of cribs. Make sure you research your surgeon. Find a certified plastic surgeon. There are advanced medical procedures that cause minimal trauma to the body so you can be up and around quicker. I was literally up and around the day of surgery. Some surgeons call it the quick recovery technique, others call it electrocauterization. If you have a lot of sag you may also need a lift with implants. Most surgeons offer free consultations. The key thing to remember is healing time. They look a little odd shaped at the beginning. They look high and tight for a while and then they will start to settle. This process takes about 3 - 6 months and then you will see small changes up to one year post-op. So plan accordingly, winter is a great time to do it because you are more covered up during the healing months. I paid $5000.
I got mine done 6 months ago. I got silicon because my boobs were really small and the surgeon said since I had such little breast tissue it was a good idea to go with the more natural-feeling implant.
I like my boobs better than beforehand, but they didn't turn out as perfect as I'd hoped. The left breast sits a little higher and I think there was some internal scarring because it isn't as soft as the right breast. Of course they weren't symmetrical before the surgery either. And the surgeon was very clear that these were possible outcomes.
It usually costs $12k but I paid $10k because DH is an MD and the surgeon gave me a professional courtesy.

Has your surgeon recommended massaging them. Maybe spend more time massaging the side that is harder to break down any scar tissue that may be forming. You will see changes up to one year post-op.

He had said I only needed to do the massages for the first 3 months. I did them religiously. I see him again shortly, so I'll ask about continuing them. I guess it can't hurt to keep at it in the meantime. Good news to hear that it can take up to one year for them to completely settle. Like I said, overall I'm happier than before, but I feel like there's a little more room for improvement.
