Do your kids do this???

So, one of my kids will get physical and accidentally hurt one of the other ones....its the nature of the sibling relationship i think...they roughhouse, whatever. I am pretty much a unless there is blood, boogers, barf or broken bones, I don't want to hear about it.  Go play, work it out.

Every now and then, I hear a kid get hurt, and say "I'm telling mom" and then the kid who accidentally hurt them says "Wait, just hit me hard, then we are even."

Is it bad that I don't intervene?? They worked it out....its not really a GOOD way to work it out...but.......

Re: Do your kids do this???

  • I love it! I'm a big believer in teaching them to work it out between them rather than always running to an adult, so if that's what they worked out I wouldn't interfere!

  • No that's not bad, actually your kids have figured out that if they handle the situation themselves the cosequences are much less severe then if they bring you into it. They're geniuses.

  • My brother and I used to do this. I think it's fine.

  • love it!  My 3 and 5 yr old just started doing something similiar. In their world it works and no one is REALLY hurt.
  • They don't do that, but I kind of wish they would!

  • This usually happens when Joey hurts Cam (not the other way around however it usually IS Joey hurting Cam, not the other way around).  And he will say "Sis, it's ok." and he will either offer for her to hurt him OR he will hurt himself (slam his head on the wall, punch himself in the leg, whatever).

    It's ridiculous.
    But no, I don't intervene!

  • Ok....I feel better about not intervening!  LOL!  Nest approved!!!!  Stick out tongue

Then again, you did only get like 6 responses.  You might have to reopen this one as a poll or something!  Stick out tongue
