To me it's a last name. I had an old manager and that was his last name. It's NMS and for a girl I agree with PP on Darcy instead.

I like it ok and think of it as a girl's name.  The only Darby I know is about 10 and it is her mother's maiden name.

the only Darby I know of was a hockey player who played for the Tornto Maple Leafs his name was Darby Hendrix (or hendricson i can't quite remember)

he was pretty hot from what i remember!

I have extreme hatred for this name.  It's just really ugly looking and sounding.  It also reminds me of the the lame-o singer Terrance Trent Darby from the early 90's.

I used to work with a girl named Darby. That was the first time I have heard of it. I don't think its horrible, just different. But if you like it go for it!
