already busted out my maternity clothes

I am feeling pretty down this morning.  I got out my maternity clothes from when I was pregnant with Evie and the stuff I wore at the end of my pregnancy is already snug!  I knew I hadn't lost all of the weight from my first pregnancy, but this is just depressing.

Maybe some retail therapy will make me feel better.  Any ideas where I can find nice plus sized maternity clothes?

  • I got a lot of my maternity gear from Old Navy and I'm almost certain they have a wide variety of sizes. The quality was pretty decent and I liked shopping there because I didn't have the heart to spend a fortune on clothes I wouldn't be wearing for more than those 9 months (esp with no guarantee that subsequent pregnancies would fall in the same seasons). The Gap has some great options, too. I liked their styles more but spending $45 on a maternity tee was too much for me to do more than a few times.

Don't get too down on yourself - I am sure you look wonderful. Every pregnant woman does. You're growing a human...you're basically a superhero ;)

  • Ditto Old Navy. I got almost all of my maternity clothes there. I don't think they specifically have plus-sized maternity sizes, but depending on what size you are, it still may work. I found that their maternity stuff ran big.

I had a gift card to A Pea in the Pod but even with the card I couldn't stomach buying anything there due to how expensive it was. I wasn't about to spend a whole $50 gift card on 1 t-shirt. Luckily, Motherhood had some slightly better options, but ON was still the best.

  • I bought most of my clothes at motherhood and a few things at Target, Kohl's and Goodwill. ON's regular clothes fit me weird and so did the maternity stuff. At Motherhood, I only bought during the sale and then I got a coupon after my purchase.(I also got a goodybag with a $20 credit to shutterfly).

  • I would check out Old Navy, Kohl's or JcPenny's. I found some really cute tops at jcpenny's last time around. Although I only have two pairs of pants this time around that I can actually wear. I may be in the market for more, so I'm definitely looking for less expensive. I like kohl's but I have a hard time with lengths.

  • I'm pretty sure Target's in-store maternity clothes go up to size 18, but I'm not positive.

  • I bought a pair of jeans from Target, a pair of jeans from Kohl's and a few pair of black work-type pants from Kohl's also. I found most of my maternity tops at Target and Kohl's. Otherwise I have been able to wear my looser fitting shirts/tops/skirts/etc that I already had. Just needed to get a few maternity tank tops to layer underneath since I have such a long torso to begin with, let alone with my belly!

  • Old Navy and Kohl's got me through my pregnancy.

  • I'm pretty sure Old Navy online and JCPenney's both have plus-sized maternity clothes.

And don't feel bad - I popped out immediately w/ this one (I had people at church guessing I was pg 3 days after I got my BFP - I was only 5w pg!), but the bump growth has slowed down drastically.  I remember being like, 8-10 wks pg and freaking out thinking I was going to be the size of a house by the end if I kept growing the way I was at the beginning.

That is what I'm beginning to fear! I hid my first pregnancy at work until 22 weeks, and my second until 18 weeks, but I'm thinking that people are probably already suspecting it this time around.

My fave places for maternity clothes are ON & JC Penney. I've also gotten things from Motherhood, Target, & Kohls.

I had a ton of people guessing at work, and the school year ended when I was 8w (and I found out at 5w).  I hid my first pregnancy until 15w, and didn't confirm anything w/ this one when people would ask, but even so... yeah, this one was not interested in being hidden at all. :P
