1st Trimester

Is it normal not to feel pregnant?

I am almost 11 weeks and besides sore breasts I have no symptoms. First I gained a few pounds but since last week I lost a few. I hope everything is ok. I read about people starting to show already at 11 weeks. I'm not skinny so I have quite a tummy but my stomach is not even getting hard or showing any signs of pregnancy. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks!

  • Don't worry, pregnancy affects everyone differently.  Your uterus is still down in your pelvis right now, so it's completely normal that you aren't showing at all.  You shouldn't have a hard bump for a while yet.

I had very few symptoms with my first pregnancy and I didn't get a little bump until 21 weeks.  I've felt completely normal for the last month of this pregnancy and even though this is my second baby, I'm still not showing yet.

  • It's perfectly normal not to have any symptoms and to not show any at 11 weeks Smile Some would call it lucky.

  • The only symptom I had in my first pregnancy was being sleepy. I'm a teacher so that's fairly normal anyway! After first tri I felt completely like my old self up until about 30 weeks!

  • I never really feel PG until I start showing... which is usually super early. It's only a matter of time before my belly shares the news before I can, actually.

  • Most of the time I don't feel pregnant either.  Like you, I had a belly pre-pregnancy so I'm not going to be "showing" until later on I don't think.  I haven't had m/s so the only thing that reminds me of my pregnancy is getting to skip the maxi pad/tampon aisle at the grocery store!!!
Blessed to be married to my best friend & so in love with our little man!!

  • I didn't REALLY start to show with my first until WELL after 11 weeks with my son.  Even at 20 weeks, most people were probably thinking "Well... she's probably pregnant, but too close to tell... I'll keep my mouth shut"  By 24 weeks though, it was pretty obvious I wouldn't have been wearing tight fitting clothing if I wasn't pregnant.  And what is "feel pregnant?"  Not everyone feels sick.

  • Be glad that you are not constangly nauscous or puking... I am a pro at it.

Other than that, everyone shows differently and I am sure you will get there. If you were super skinny I would think that you would show sooner. Baby's there... :) Enjoy fitting into your pants while you can!
