a question about toys?

I am tired of all the plastic and battery operated toys my family has gotten DS. I tell them all the time that these kinds of toys can be harmful and they just don't seem to listen. I like getting DS wooden toys but my family says they are boring. Do you girls know of any fun toys that I can suggest to my family for christmas presents that are more eco friendly?

-pretend food, pots, pans
-instruments
-hiding (so a play tent or teepee or something might be fun)
-cars/trucks
-animals
-climbing
-water toys
-books
