This has been the most heartbreaking and discouraging 7-10 days my husband and I have encountered in our relationship.  After our m/c, our OB told us to wait 2-3 cycles before trying again.  That is not what we wanted to hear since we are very anxious to start a family, and were so devasted to lose our first pregnancy.  Today, I call to find out the results of my most recent beta levels and the nurse says "your levels have returned to normal so you are clear to begin TTC if you wish".  I explained to her what we were previously told and that we would like a "go ahead" to feel comfortable and she said that she feels there isn't any reason for us to wait.  What would you do?

I would call my Doctor & see why they asked you to wait 2/3 cycles.  Maybe they will be OK with letting you try sooner?

I would call back to your OB's office and request that the dr. call you back personally.  Then, tell the dr. what you were told by the nurse.  Ask what the reasoning is behind the dr. telling you to wait, and if that still stands, or if in fact you are cleared to TTC.

Good luck.  This is all so confusing and emotionally draining.

But, be aware that the driving NEED to get pregnant again right away is part of the grieving process. 

Wow, I honestly never thought of that.  That is a very good point.  The need was so extreme for me.

Maybe I will go ahead and give her a call.  Initially when thinking of that I didn't know if that was appropriate or not.  I've been experiencing many of the stages of grieving (depression, anger, some signs of acceptance) and recognize that that feeling of "need" to be pregnant again is part of the process.  Although, I think most of it just relates to the fact we've been wanting this for SO long and have waited a very long time to be in that "right" place.  Now that we've reached our goals of marriage, a house, and careers, I feel that we're finally ready and refuse to put our family on hold any longer.  Does that make sense, haha..NOW i'm rambling.

I would call back and ask to speak directly with the doctor. Chances are the nurse, like the nurse at my doctor's office, didn't have all the information regarding your specific situation. Better safe than sorry. (hugs)

I'm sorry for your loss. I was in a similar situation, where I first was never told to wait only for my thyroid test results, then when those results were in I was told to wait 2 cycles, then a week later at my follow up, I was given the green light. We decided to go ahead and TTC since we got the green light. If you feel more comfortable, call your doctor to discuss it further.
