My Dr. appt update and a nipple question...

So, I had a very lengthy discussion with my Dr. on Friday and asked lots of questions. I was on CD17 the day of the appt. and she said my CM looked nowhere near like it should (I am usually Oing between 17-20). I got a + OPK last night but no EWCM - its just kind of creamy/watery this month (anyone wanna chart stalk me?).

She is going to do CD21 testing on me tomorrow. run a full panel TSH to check my thyroid levels again, do progesterone and prolactin testing, and also some type of test for breast secretion.She went ahead and gave me a prescription for Prometrium because she thinks I will need it (she won't be in the day of the testing). I also wasn't able to print my charts before my appointment, but I am going to have DH print them out at work this evening (our printer is broken, awesome) and leave them for her tomorrow.

On to the nipple question:

I have been having secretion from my right nipple for a while (before my pregnancy). It has a light brown tinge to it and it only happens in the morning in/after my shower. It doesn't leak; it has to be squeezed to come out. I had forgotten about it when I became pregnant because it stopped once I got my BFP. After my loss it came back, so we are trying to figure out what could be causing this. She said my right breast is very grainy, but that can be caused by caffeine. I have cut down on caffeine quite a bit, so I'm wondering if there is an underlying problem... hoping for all the best, but can't help to be a little worried.

Just wondering if anyone else has ever had a light brown tinged nipple secretion?

I'll post updates on the results of the testing once I hear back.

Also... my Dr. told me to start counting the day I see blood, even if its just spotting, as CD1. She said that when I see spotting, my lining has started to break down already and it should be counted as CD1.

Not sure how I feel about that, because I have always charted CD1 as the day I need a tampon... So, FF will be a day off until next cycle starts (in case anyone was looking at my chart thinking, tomorrow won't be CD21 for her)!

I had it once.  My OB-GYN said it could be from a fibroid tumor ( not cancer) near a milk duct and to cut down on caffeine.  If your Dr is aware and you are cutting down on caffeine, you should be  okay.

I am not sure if you have ever had issues with irregular cycles but I did, in addition to discharge from my breast and I had high prolactin. 

After an MRI to rule out a pituitary tumor I was put on Bromocriptine and my prolactin level dropped from 118 to 12 in just ten days (this time around).  the last time I had this issue (before my pregnancy) my prolactin was regulated and I started Prometrium and AF arrived in four days.

Why on earth is your doctor doing CD21 testing when you just got a +OPK?  CD21 assumes a CD14 O.  Since you didn't O on CD14, the test will be a complete waste of time, money and energy.  I would call first thing and ask if she'd do it 7DPO instead.

Hm, I'm not sure... I didn't get the +OPK until yesterday, and my appt was on Friday. She seemed to think that my body gears up for O, but its not happening (I'm assuming).

I am a complete and total newbie to all of these tests. I don't know what day tests are supposed to be done on. The only thing TTC I am any good at is temping, OPKs and charting.

I posted the other day to get input on what to ask regarding testing, because I have no idea where to start. I got some good feedback, but apparently didn't get all the info I needed... I need to do more research to find out some of this stuff before tomorrow I suppose...

I'm here about the nipple question.....I wouldn't worry - but definitely tell/show the OB next time you're there.  This is the exact question I panicked about and called the doctor on call at my OB.....apparently this is pretty normal and it's a hormone thing - mine is a whitish/tannish color and it only comes out when squeezed.  Of course I googled the heck out of "nipple discharge" before I called the doctor and you only should be alarmed if it is bloody (could mean cancer).  I think that I never noticed before b/c I wasn't as in-tune to my body as I am now....I don't know why but I think I was in the shower when I squeezed it for the first time?!  Weird, I know.....
