Sweet Mother of God, My Head

I've had a headache for 3 straight days. Tylenol doesn't touch it. I've tried hot showers, warm compresses, cool compresses, drinking enough water to float away, sleep, allergy meds. Sleeping is nice, but the headache is just there when I wake up. I feel like my fuucking head is going to explode. I have shiit to do like work at study, and it's debilitating. Suggestions?

  • Dang. Have you tried caffeine? I've read something about you should take tylenol with a coke because the caffeine helps your body absorb the medicine better.
  • Yep, agree with PP, drink tons of water (I have to drink about 2-3 liters a day to prevent headaches now that I'm pregnant) plus some caffeine.  Up to 200mg is fine with pregnancy I believe.  Headaches suck.

  • Yesterday was the first time in a week that my head wasn't pounding! I've been using tylenol and the occasional Dr Pepper! But aside from the pain, what's really ticking me off is the constant "whooshing" in my left ear! It's like a permanent stethoscope jammed into my ear! If those would go away it would be really nice!

  • All I can offer is sympathy. I am going through the same thing and it's awful!!

  • I'm one of those migraine sufferers whose migraines have not gone away with pregnancy.  Plain and simple, it sucks.  I sleep.  Nothing else works.  With my last migraine I slept from 7P-2P the next day, only waking up to throw up or sip on coconut water.  I wish I had some good advice for you.  I can only offer sympathy.

  •  I have found that hot drinks help headaches in the morning and cold drinks help in the afternoon, especially really cold gatorade/powerade. I tried just drinking water but it seemed to make it worse especially in the afternoon.
  • Vitamin B!!!!!! This was a total life-saver when I had the migraine from h-e-l-l a few weeks back. I just took one of those "dissolve beneath your tongue" vitamin B pills and one Tylenol and it disappeared almost immediately! Hope this helps!

  • My Dr just told me Friday to try 250mg of magnesium for the headaches.  I haven't tried it yet because like anything it stopped as soon as she suggested it but that is what she recommended.  Sorry, I have had the same issues.  GL!
