Pregnancy Acronyms?

I read a lot of the message boards on this site. I have picked up on a few of the acronyms but there are still many I haven't figured out: DH, DD, etc. If anyone is familiar with most, please let me know so I can understand the posts. Thanks!!

Funny because I totally had to google it this morning!  It's usually week 24, but I guess some people say week 28 (?) , when the baby is much more likely to survive outside the womb... or I also saw it described as when doctors will be willing to do alot more in order to keep the baby alive. It's not a guarentee that if you go into preterm labor that the baby will live or be perfectly normal, it's just that the odds are waaaaaay better, which doesn't really comfort me at all, ha!

  • When I first started on TheBump, I had the same questions! To help new moms in the same boat, I actually wrote a blog that included resources on acronyms, as well as other websites new moms might want to check out. In an effort to not sound too self-promoting, here is the direct like to the acronym guide: https://www.babycenter.com/community-help-abbreviations, but if you want to check out the whole blog post, it's available here: https://voices.yahoo.com/5-websites-every-expecting-mother-must-check-out-12263417.html?cat=25. Hope that helps!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
