need some advice - AF related (TMI)

Hi ladies! I hope everyone is having a great week! This week has been LONG here, and I can't wait for the 3 day weekend!

 

So I have an AF question.  My AF's have been ridiculous!! And my cycles are screwed up (no shocker there). Since T has been born, my AF's actually went back to normal (somewhat).  They are now coming every month, although my cycles are longer, lasting about 35 - 37 days.  I'm charting and taking OPKs and have found that I'm testing positive on CD 27 - 29 (not good...big surprise! stupid body!). I actually suspect that I'm getting cysts again. He never officially diagnosed me with PCOS, but I think I have it.

 

Anywho, when AF comes, she lasts 7 days and I have VERY heavy bleeding (TMI. sorry!) Like I can't go more than an hour without having to run to the bathroom.  And now for the problem....We're taking the kids to Disney World in December.  And guess what? Just my luck! AF is due the day we leave! UGH!

 

Do you know of any way I can help my cycles, and maybe move the day I can expect AF? If I could have a 28 day cycle, I would be fine! Sorry if this sounds bad. But I don't want to ruin our vacation because of my stupid body problems! Oh, and I should mention, BCPs are not an option. (although they would work perfectly for the AF problem).

 

I have an appt scheduled with my OB to talk about my cycles, my O date, probably needing Clomid again, and my AF's.  But I'm just wondering if there's anything he will be able to do to help me out.  Thanks for listening!

It sounds like you are looking to TTC again soon, so I'm guessing an IUD wouldn't be an option. Since often that will stop your period entirely.

I know I took a bunch of vitamins to deal with late O and a short LP when we were TTCAL and by the third month my cycle had shifted so I O'd at a more normal part of the cycle (day 16 instead of day 24+). I imagine my cycle would have been shorter that month as well, but that was the month I got pg.

I think I took: Vitamin E, extra folic acid, pomegranate pills, and B6. I think the B6 was specifically for the luteal phase defect.

Even when I was on Clomid, I O'd on the late side. (CD 18 when taken on days 5 - 9).  So if you figure you should expect AF around 14 days after that, it would've been on CD 30.  Weird.  Maybe I should ask him about moving it up to CD 3- 7 instead.

 

Thanks for the vitamin recommendations! It does seem like I have a luteal phase defect of some kind, so maybe that will help!
