I was wondering if anyone could share their emory JC experience for L&D and pp care. I am considering a practice change and the one I like would deliver here. I delivered C at Northside Atlanta. I want to deliver at either Nside Forsyth or Emory JC. Also Rec your VBAC friendly practices that deliver at NSide Forsyth. I am looking for a smaller practice. The practice I delivered DS with is now just too large and impersonal for me.
Re: Emory Johns Creek Experiences??
Hey - Congratulations!! I must have missed your news, as I am not on here very much anymore.
I have a friend that delivered at John's Creek and was very happy there. Do you know the name of the doctor you are considering - I can find out if it was her doctor. I heard some rumors that they might be closing the L&D section at Emory John's Creek since there are so few doctors that deliver there and many locals are going to Northside Forsyth now.....but I'm not sure if this is true or just a rumor.
I have another friend that delivered at Northside Forsyth and can get you her doctor info - not sure if they are VBAC friendly or not.
This is 100% my opinion (you can certainly take it or leave it) but if there is a chance you will end up with another c-section you might want to lean towards Northside over Emory John's Creek because they do so many c-sections and the hospital staff is so experienced. Good luck - I know I looked at all local options as well but my Dr delivers at Northside Perimeter and I wanted to stick with him since I was having a repeat c-section.
I have a Dr that does Northside Forsyth. He will also do VBAC. The thing is they don't allow VBAC's at NF. Due to the list of complications there is more blood supply at NA. Also you have more specialist at NA. I have no idea if EJC will do it or not.
Honestly if you want to do a VBAC I would go to NA.
Thanks Kim! That is a good point. I have no problem going there if I had to even though it'd be nice to be close.
Thank you!
I also used both Dr. Anthony and Dr. Chua at Suburban Women's Specialists, and I delivered via C-Section at EJC. I was very happy with my experience and they are very supportive of me going for a VBAC for baby #2. I would highly recommend both the doctors and the hospital.
Thank you!!
