love and logic early childhood parenting class anyone?

Hi all,

I know it's been a long time since I've been on here so I'm sure most of you won't recognize me but I was wondering if any of you have done or heard much about the "Love and Logic: Early childhood parenting made fun" class series?  It's a 5 week parenting class and is offered at the school near us soon and I'm wondering if it is worth the time and energy?  Plus I will need a little ammo to convince my husband it's a good idea to go.  So has anyone here done it?  What did you think?  TIA!

  • I've read the love and logic book and rented the video from the library.  Hubby was interested in watching the video.  I thought it was fantastic and use it all the time.  Very valuable.  Anything you can do to get you and hubby on the same page with parenting is good.  Maybe say that you think it's important that you are on the same page with your parenting styles so that LO's discipline is consistent from parent-to-parent...and you think this class with foster discussion.  Or...tell him he can buy that thing he's been eye-balling for a while, LOL.

  • They are really great classes and allow you the opportunity to ask questions and get support as you are implementing the techniques. You get to hear stories about how other parents are using it and seeing it work.  You get help if you get stuck too.

If you go to my website, you can watch youtube clips of parents talking about the value of the classes and how it makes the book/videos "come to life."   www.headandheartparent.com

You can find out about classes in your area by calling www.LoveandLogic.com, and if you can't find any local classes, you can call me.  I teach private classes over the phone or Skype.

    Good luck!

  • I work in a Domestic Violence Shelter and we use the Love and Logic structure with the children and have someone come and talk to the moms. I got an intro to it when I was pregnant and loved the ideas. They have sessions where I live and if DH didn't work at night or I could find childcare, I would go.
