How long after M/C did you go in for a follow-up?

I am waiting for a call back from my OB, but I wanted to see what you ladies had to say. How long after a M/C did you go back for a follow up appointment?

When my miscarriage was detected last week he didn't say anything about a follow up, but I'd like to get checked out. I want to make sure everything is "back to normal" so we can TTC again after 2 cycles - that's what he said we should wait.

I was told to go in if I start bleeding heavily or cramping again.   No mention of a follow up.  I asked.

My OB said 2 weeks.  My appt. is tomorrow, at 2w3d.

When I first m/c I went in two days later because I was switching Doctors and they also checked to make sure if everything was out or not (it wasn't so I had to get a D&C the same day as that appoinment). After that I didn't go back for a follow up until 2 weeks later. Then was back another 2 weeks later just for lab work to test beta's down to 0.

I had to induce my m/c medically, so my OB had me come back 2 days later to make sure everything came out and that I wouldn't need surgery. Then I went back again at 4 1/2 weeks for more of a consultation, etc.

I m/c naturally on a Wednesday night & had a f/u the following Monday (pelvic exam, U/S, and beta level). I had one more beta drawn a week later. No further instructions after that.

1 week after the bleeding started (I had a natural mc and they wanted to make sure everything passed) and then 4 weeks after that was my final mc related appointment.

My OB scheduled me for a follow up after two weeks, but he was such an incredible jerkface that I actually never went back. I had a natural MC and it was very early, < 4 weeks, probably. I ended up seeing another OB after four weeks and all was well.

I MC at 12 weeks. I was told to f/u in 6 weeks.

I had my follow up at 2 wks post d&e. This included a pelvic exam and when the dr. told me it was safe to TTC again and orders for a u/s. Then at 3 wks, I had my u/s to rule out any products of conception left behind. Then after my 2nd pd. post loss (about 2 1/2 mo's later), I was advised by my OB to see him again. Had another pelvic exam and was completely cleared to TTC again.

2 weeks after D&C I went in for a follow-up, but they didn't do any physical checks. They did do blood tests to monitor me down and 6 weeks following the D&C did an u/s to check to make sure the cysts I had were gone and to make sure that my uterus was back down to normal size.

I went in about a week after to make sure my HCG was zero.  We're gearing up for IVF 2, so I went in yesterday (which is six weeks after) for a repeat HSG to be sure my uterus was clear and in good shape.

I m/c at 6 weeks and was told nothing of a follow-up. I did have an u/s scheduled for a week later and I was told to keep that to make sure everything passed. I phoned and  requested an appt because I felt so lost- I had no idea how to long wait before TTC or anything. They nicely scheduled me one and it would have been 2 weeks later!

She wanted to f/u 2 weeks later... my appt was actually 2.5 weeks later...

I went in for a f/u after 2 weeks, and then my OB removed some POC with forceps. I thought that my bleeding would stop after that, but I bled for another 2 weeks. Good luck.

I had a d&c and my OB said there was no need to follow up. I wasn't happy with my care and wanted to switch doctors anyway, so I made an appointment with a new doctor. The earliest I could get in is a month after the d&c (a week from today).

I feel like I need to make sure everything is ok and I have a bunch of questions I want to ask as well.

my OB scheduled me to come in 5 (almost 6) weeks after my MC. she just did a pelvic exam, and answered a few of my questions

They said two weeks but I got a fever a couple days after my d&c and had to go in sooner to make sure I didn't have an infection.

If your doctor did not schedule you for a follow-up I would switch doctors.  I didn't have a follow up after my m m/c and I ended up having complications.  I had to be switched to a specialist because (in my opinion) my midwife did not offer the proper after-care.  I bled for 9 weeks and I think it could have been taken care of (or not happened at all) if I had been for a follow up appointment sooner.  Go with your gut-you need to be seen again soon after your m/c.

I had to go for betas every week until they were at 0 and my doctor wanted to see me after my first loss just to 'talk'.  It was more of a counseling type session, but she answered a lot of my questions and concerns and welcomed DH to go with me.

ETA:  I went in for my 'counseling'/ info appointment about 3 weeks after my loss was confirmed.
