Pants for a Slim-ish, PT'ed boy

I'm having a terrible time with pants for Ari right now. His 18 mo + 18-24 month pants are too short but fit okay otherwise, except a little loose in the waist & hip. Going up to 24 mo or 2t for the length is not working - they are too long & HUGE in the waist & hip since he's not in diapers. Even adjustable waist wasn't working.

I had some luck @ Gymboree today with 18-24 mo b/c they seem to run a little big, so they give us that "in between sizes" fit that we need. They were really picked over though, & only had 1 pr in his size. Children's Place & Gap was a fail.

Where else should I check?

Cherokee are all that fit DS. 18 months in anything is too short, but 2T in most brands are too big unless he's in a cloth diaper. I have to send him to PS in sposies and all his pants fall off. Cherokees are the only ones that fit him in a sposie and DD#2 (he's 25lbs, she's 22 and is not in diapers.).

I am having the exact same problem, same sizes and all, with Ian. Old Navy seems to have jeans made for slim and tall boys. Also, consider buying him some basic looking girls jeans. Most of DS's jeans are girls, but they look fine and fit well.

Well.. DS never wears jeans so can't help you there.

I love Kate Quinn pants and sometimes DS just wears pajama pants. I have seen Kate Quinn's clothing on sale at Zulily.

I've had decent luck with Gymboree. ?Check online - they may have more sizes. ?Gap does have some slim fit pants for boys online. ?Have you tried Dapper Snappers? ?Google it - I love those things! ?DS has always had a little waist, and those things are a wardrobe saver.

We have the same issue with my DD. She is very small and once she was potty trained even wore a pair of newborn shorts! We are doing a lot of tights and last year's skirts to avoid the length issue but obviously that doesn't help you. I don't know how it is for a boy's clothes, but my mom bought DD some jeans and cords from crazy 8 and they are so nice and slim. She is almost 26 months and the 18-24 for her well for length and the waist is big but they are cut so slim in the legs they stay up well. IDK how their boy clothes are cut but maybe check it out!
