Thabks so much for your advice! Our girls are not far apart (mine were born on July 10th) so it is easy to compare where they are at. I just got the Culturelle and really hope it helps. Their stool has been a mess for a couple of weeks so to me it's obvious there is a digestive issue. The pediatrician told me it is probably just a phase because they are fine at night and sleep flat without problem. My question is what formula (if any) are you using, did you switch and why are you using rice cereal? Was it because they were spitting up and not gaining or is it because it soothes the belly? My girls are gaining fine and don't spit up but if it also soothes and makes digestion easier i am all about trying anything at this point! Thanks again for your help and kind words

We tried so many formulas and finally started them on Similac Sensitive and so far for the last few weeks it has worked the best for us. The rice cereal was suggested to us by the pediatrician because they would be hungry and want to eat but then fuss and spit the bottle out so they were thinking it was the acid coming up and making them not want to eat so the rice cereal is to absorb it more I believe. One of my girls was a big sputter upper and that was the first sign of reflux although they both have never had a problem gaining. My other girl was just EXTREMELY fussy and seemed generally uncomfortable and when she burped would make a sour face and cry but she never really spit up much. I completely understand the frustration, we called our pediatrician probably a dozen times so far because of all this, it makes you crazy! I hope the culturelle works for your girls! Mine still have definitely have their moments but the good ones far outweigh the bad ones now! I keep telling myself everyday they are getting a little older and things have to get better!! Let me know how it goes! : )
