would you take a 2.5 yo bowling?

We have some free passes to a bowling place nearby.  It's rainy and gross out.  Choices are for DH to take DS and me to find something else to do with DD when she gets up from her nap or for us all to go together.  I'm on the fence.

  • Not my child. He's only 25 months but he would be running around, touching other balls in other lanes...I'd rather go walk around the mall or something if it was raning.

  • I probably would.  Get one of those ball slide things so she can just push it instead of trying to have her roll it all the way herself.

  • Yes.  Lots of places have the bumpers (don't know what the are called) that eliminate the gutters so little kids can bowl.

    I'd go in a heartbeat.

promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am
  • We've done it several times, and the kids had a lot of fun.

  • Probably.  We took the kids mini bowling and DD loved it.  I think she would think it was fun.

  • Maybe. DD1 went bowling for the first time at 4 years, and she had trouble getting the ball all the way down the lane. The bumpers don't really help when the ball just stops. ;)

  • We took DD at 2.5. She did some running around like crazy, but we had requested an end lane, so it didn't really bother anyone. She was actually a better bowler than DS>

  • Yes, my DS LOVES it.  We just get the bumpers and let him roll the ball.  We planned to have his 3rd bday party at the bowling ally but he ended up sick and we never did it.
  • Probably too late, but we brought dd with us when she was 1.5 and she had fun. We went with SIL and her kids (so we had bumpers up) but she still had fun. She wasn't playing for a score obviously, but had fun try to push the ball down the lane with us helping her.
