Maternity bras?? Recs?

I'm only just into the 8th week but I'm already "not quite fitting into" my normal bras and my bb's are so incredibly sore/swollen! Even DH commented and said "Woah!! Are those the bras you normally wear??? Because you're spilling out now!"

So what bras do you recommend? I know I'm going to go through this a few times throughout pregnancy but it looks like it's already starting for me. (my mom said this happened to her early on when she was pg with me!)

Any ideas/recommendations would be appreciated! TIA!

Re: Maternity bras?? Recs?

  • I don't know if this helps, but I just did bigger normal bras until I was maybe 33 weeks and I started using nursing bras.

  • That's a good idea too - I was thinking about that and then my SIL (who has 3 kids) said "oh no, just go straight into maternity bras..." So I dunno - this is the first time I've done this! lol

  • No help here, just wanted to tell you how jealous I am! WHATEVA I want bigger bras!Stick out tongue
  • lol @ tpo...well, hopefully they don't get out of control!! A little growth, ok...too much growth -OUCH! I already hurt! lol
  • I went up a cup and a band size early on. I ended up buying some from Mimi and Motherhood. They are pretty comfortable. I bought 3 bras, 2 sport nursing bras, and 2 sleep bras. Mid-way through the pregnancy, the band got a little tight and I bought a back extender which has been one of the best purchases! Now, I have to start looking for nursing bras and tanks!?

  • I bought a bigger bra at an outlet mall.  I didn't want to spend too much money on a "mid" bra.  I plan on wearing this one as long as I can and then near the end getting nursing bras.  I'm pouring out of the "mid" bra a little bit too but since I pretty much have no chest normally.....I'm kind of enjoying it!  LOL
  • Early on, I bought the bra extender (hooks onto the hooks to make the band a few inches wider).  I got mine at Motherhood Maternity but I've seen on here that they sell them at Target, etc.  A couple of weeks ago, that just wasn't cutting it and I went out and bought a couple more "normal" bras that were just a bigger size.  (P.S.  The sore thing does go away eventually.. I can't remember what week but it does get better...)

  • I started at a big B and now I'm almost to DD.  The D's I bought aren't really cutting it anymore.  I didn't even think about maternity bras, but that might be my next stop.  I have no clue where I'll go to look, sorry I don't have any recommendations.

My bb's were incredibly sore too, but they have gotten much better.  I think it was like weeks 6-9 I had to sleep with a bra on at night.  It will get better, just hang in there!
