I asked if he wanted some more water and instead of just saying "uhhhh" and shaking his head, which means no, he looked at me for a bit like he was thinking really hard then NODDED HIS HEAD and said something that sounded like "es."
I can't tell you how awesome it is to finally be able to know WHAT and WHEN he wants something. He can't SAY exactly what, but at least he cant shake or nod his head and not flip out and throw himself on the floor when he gets frustrated.
I was all giddy, jumping up and down clapping and Nora's like "Mom, stop acting all weird and stuff. Miles just said yes. That's it."
Yup. That's it. THAT IS IT!!
Re: Miles NODDED to me tonight!!!
Yay Miles! That is so awesome!
I love Nora's reaction. ...Chill out, mom!
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.

That's AWESOME!!!
I remember the first time my second nodded. It was such a long time coming and it made a huge difference in how we communicated. Once he figured that out, the frustration level dropped way down.
So exciting!
That's so exciting. And I love the typical big sister response, she probably has an easier time understanding him than adults anyway so to her it's no big deal.
This!
