Carseat Infant Adapter

Anyone know how long you should keep the infant adapter in the carseat? I have the Chico Keyfit 30.  DS has just hit 10.6 lbs.  I don't think he's big enough to remove it just yet, but it got me thinking. It's looking a lot snugger than it was before

    I have the same seat and I just checked the manual the other day. It is suppose to be removed when they are 11 lbs.  You can keep the head rest part in though.
