Our insurance co. has a healthy pregnancy program I enrolled in and they sent me "What to Expect" for free. I really like it because I can easily skip over stuff that doesn't apply to me
And as far as DH is concerned...I wish I could get him to read a book!!
First came love, then came marriage - Oct 31, 09 Then came a miscarriage March '11 Then came a baby in the baby carriage May 16, 12
A girlfriend of mine gave me "a girlfriends guide to pregnancy" as a book for my husband. She said its funny and gives just enough information that the guys aren't freaked out and since it is funny they will think its entertaining while understanding what you are going through. I just got it so my husband hasn't read it yet but I have heard it is a good one. Im hoping so because he is "grossed" out by everything I tell him
What To Expect When Expecting is a terrible book. I would not waste your money. Even my doctor said the same thing. She suggested a week by week pregnancy book. They are much more informative and answer pretty much every question you have.
"Be Prepared" is a great book for expectant dads - Funny, with lots of pictures, but still very realistic about what we go through and what the first year of baby's life is like.
Actually, now that I think of it - it's more a post-partum and first year of life book, rather than a pregnancy book, but still worth the buy! I read it more than any of my 'medical' books Especially during the first few weeks when you really don't have much time or energy between feedings!
I knew I couldn't get him to read any books on pregnancy, and as much as he likes to read, with the little bit of time he gets too I knew he wouldn't want something with a lot of reading.
"The Dudes Guide to Pregnancy"....I bought it for DH a few days ago and he is more then half way through! He actually put his own book away that he was reading before so that he can finish this one! It must be pretty funny because he LOL's often...while I'm trying to sleep!

My husband loved this one. I even referenced it when DS kept spitting out his medicine.
To my boys: I will love you for you Not for what you have done or what you will become I will love you for you I will give you the love The love that you never knew
My Husband and I are both reading a book called "Fathers Milk". Its not really about pregnancy, but more about handling life after the baby arrives. Its really really great! Especially since it's only a dollar at the dollar store!!
